1 Samuel 12:24
But be sure to fear the LORD and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.
Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
We attempt to serve our community in a number of different ways. We have been a part of the Arlington Life Shelter Ministry since its inception. We have provided backpacks and school supplies directly to families and to schools. Several years ago, during a recession, we worked with a national food bank to provide low cost food to anyone who chose to participate.
We have partnered with Cook’s Children’s Hospital and Harris Hospital to provide free flu shots each fall. We work with the Carter Blood Bank and donate blood several times a year.
Recently we started a ‘Trunk or Treat’ ministry to provide neighborhood children a safe place to celebrate All Hallows Eve. And through Kid’s Hope Inc, we have begun a mentoring program to children attending Little Elementary School.
Internationally, we have been involved in the Ulster Project. This program brings Protestant and Catholic young adults from Northern Ireland and pairs them with like young adults here. For one month, these young adults experience each other as people, not stereotypes. Our prayer is that when they return to their homes, they will be leaven in the culture.
We continue to look for more ways to reach out and minister to our community.
We invite you to Come and See!
