Life Enrichment Ministries

Renewal Weekend – previously “Cursillo” - a ministry of the DFW Episcopal Renewal Center

Renewal Weekend is a retreat from the World.  Participants learn how to live into their Baptismal covenant and become more effective in bringing Christ to others and others closer to Christ.

The weekend is an outgrowth of over forty years of successfully raising up Christ-centered leaders through the Cursillo Movement.

The primary differences between the new Renewal Weekend format and Cursillo are:

  • Renewal Weekend offers the opportunity for repeat attendance, so anyone who has already attended either Cursillo or Renewal Weekend are invited to attend again.
  • The weekend is shorter - beginning Friday afternoon at 2pm and ending Sunday after closing Mass at 3pm.
  • The new format focuses heavily on the Book of Common Prayer and immerses participants in Anglican spirituality including the Sacraments, the Daily Office, liturgy and prayers.
  • The format focuses on small and large group interaction through Bible studies and talks that explore the fundamentals of Christianity.
  • The new format includes training on how to give personal witness and testimony.

If you are interested in attending a Renewal Weekend, being on team, or sponsoring a participant, please visit https://www.episcopalrenewalcenter.org/ or email info@episcopalrenewalcenter.org.
